Welcome to Team Jorvik

Team Jorvik is a small, friendly, inclusive swimming club in York. Affiliated to Swim England, we provide the opportunity for children and young adults to compete at all levels or to simply enjoy being active.

We offer excellent swim training with qualified coaches at locations throughout York, with a base at Archbishop Holgate's School. We have small squads, each with their own dedicated coaches, which means we are able to work with each individual swimmer to ensure that they can achieve their own potential.

We believe that swimming is for life and we work hard to ensure that our members enjoy their swimming journey in a social and supportive environment. And we welcome the involvement and support of all members of our swimmers' families in the running of the club!

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

  • Bonfire Bash Another excellent showing from our swimmers at the Spenborough Bonfire Bash on Sunday 14th November resulted in the team finishing 8th overall out of the 17 teams competing and handfuls of medals being carted home! Strong swims from everyone resulted in some great PBs and even when not achieving a PB, everyone was pretty much finishing in and around their PB times. As always, it’s difficult to pick out individual performances, but mentions have to go to Sam T and Bradley for achieving the top girl and top boy awards in the 9/10 year age group, outstanding efforts! Also a mention for a number of huge PBs (by 3 seconds or more) for Daniel B, Joni, Carlos, Joe ...

  • NER SC Championships There were some great swims by our small squad at the North East Region SC Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge in November. 3/3 PBs for 12 year old Millie and 2 for 11 year old Carolina. In his last outing for Team Jorvik, 12 year old Alex managed 7 PBs from his 11 swims and finished in the top 10 in all but 2 events, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal in the 100m IM by 0.02 secs. We wish Alex all the best and look forward to following his progress in the future as he moves on to train with our friends at YCBC. Oliver also qualified but chose not to compete.
