An amazing 7 of our swimmers qualified for the North East Regional Short Course Swimming Championships: Rhiannon Wood, Tom Watkins-Hargan, Zak Moorcroft, Emily Hill, Callum Tonkins, Joe Callin and Aidan Fothergill.  As it turned out, only Emily, Joe and Aidan were able to make the trip to Sunderland, competing in 9 events between them.  12 year olds Joe and Aidan continued their recent good form and proved they could go the extra mile for the big occasion with some fantastic swims.  Aidan started with a 6 second PB in 200m Breaststroke to finish in a very creditable 8th place, before putting in another great 50m Breaststroke swim (36.04) to win a Bronze medal - quite possibly Team Jorvik's first medal at this level of competition.  He was very close to winning a second bronze the next morning with a 4 second PB in 100m Breaststroke, finishing in 4th place.  Both boys swam 1 second PBs in the 50m Butterfly, with Joe finishing in 9th place before going on to knock another 4 seconds off his 100m Butterfly time.  Both boys were in action again in the 100m Individual Medley, with Aidan just having the edge on this occasion with his 5th PB swim at the end of a long weekend.
